Sina received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biological Sciences from the University of Konstanz. During her Bachelor’s research, she developed an interest in autophagy in Arabidopsis thaliana, focusing on the role of specific genes in stress-induced leaf senescence. Her Master’s research focused on the role of the translocon-associated protein (TRAP) complex in protein translocation at the ER, particularly its interaction with nascent polypeptide chains. During her semester abroad at the University of Gothenburg, she gained experience with commonly used methods for the purification of solute carrier proteins. In August 2026, Sina joined the Münch Lab to pursue her PhD, where she is interested in organelle stress responses.
