Dr. Iris Montes
Iris studied Molecular Biology at Tufts University, where she completed her PhD in the laboratory of Malavika Raman. During her thesis work, she investigated how the p97 adaptor UBXD8 regulates peroxisome abundance and lipid homeostasis through organelle quality control pathways. Through this work, she developed a strong interest in cellular stress responses and organelle proteostasis. Iris joined the Münch lab as a postdoctoral researcher to study how mitochondrial proteostasis and redox imbalance influence cellular adaptation to stress.
